Julie is our customer service rep at Van Gilder Insurance Agency. She grew up in Wisconsin and moved to numerous places, living as far north as Bruce, WI, and as far south as Madison, WI. She graduated with a degree in Sociology from Edgewood College in Madison. She got married, worked for a couple of years in her field of study, and had her first baby. She and her family moved to Rice Lake, WI, and she was fortunate enough to stay home and raise her children.
In the fall of 2010, when her youngest started Pre-K, she decided to return to work part-time. She joined Van Gilder Insurance Agency and has been working as a customer service rep since then. Julie is the face you see most days when you come into the office and the voice that answers the phone more times than not. She handles most of our quoting and policy servicing. She also tries to keep the guys in the office focused on tasks.
Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, sporting events, reading, and walking. She and her husband are new to becoming empty nesters, so they are trying to navigate that shift. Most often, if not at work, she spends her time with her husband, traveling to see her 3 grown children and 3 grandsons.
Julie enjoys talking to each client who calls into the office and stops to sit down and visit. She also loves the camaraderie and the family atmosphere at our small office.
